Christmas Fever

Just like snow I am mad about Christmas! I really am a big kid and I hope that never changes. Here's a little quiz about our traditions at Christmas time... Read it thoroughly now there will be a 'how much I know Siany exam' afterwards.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? A bit of both but mostly wrapping paper. I go a bit crazy with ribbon and stuff. I like them to look all fancy.

2. Real tree or Artificial? We've done both but this year we have a smaller artificial tree up high where little baby hands cant reach.

3. When do you put up the tree? 1st of December because I literally cant wait any longer. In fact *whispers* don't tell but this year it was a few days before because I was busy on the 1st...

4. When do you take the tree down? New years day. I take the decorations down and clean every inch of the house. I like to start the New Year afresh like i'm going to be a house cleaning, decluttering, domestic Goddess from then on. That usually lasts about 3 days...

5. Do you like mince pies? I didn't used to but yes with stupid amounts of double cream. I will attempt to make my own this year which could be interesting...

6. Favorite gift received as a child? I got a Hamster one year that was pretty cool. Until it died suddenly and a week later made a miraculous recovery...weird.

7. Hardest person to buy for? My mum Urgh! She doesn't want anything! So I alternate between perfume, bath stuff or jewellery...

8. Easiest person to buy for? My dad! He wants everything! He's a collector and has loads of hobbies. In fact I look forward to seeing him open his gift the most. Although I always tease him that im getting him socks. Maybe this year to mix it up I should actually get him some socks!

9. Do you have a nativity scene? No at this moment the figures would be eaten, slobbered on or thrown about. Lets just say its for their own safety.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail mostly although I have been known to send loud obnoxious email ones to people to open while they are at work lol

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Thongs from an elderly relative. I mean that's just wrong isn't it?

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Scrooged with Bill Murrey. Its not Christmas unless I've watched that.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? October and I do it mostly online. I cant face the crowds with my 2 grumpy children. I cant think straight under pressure...

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? *Ahem* Of course not *whistles*...

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? I don't have one thing but I do like to eat as much as possible usually until I feel sick. I always have stretchy trousers ready for the occasion.

16. Lights on the tree (colored or clear)? As you can see they were coloured but then the fuse blew or something exploded somewhere so we put up some white ones that we had spare. Sometimes I'm amazed the house it still standing to be quite honest with you.

17. Favorite Christmas song? Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree thanks to the film 'Home alone'.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? We ALWAYS travel to everyone and with the 2 kiddies its always such a massive undertaking. This year is the first year we are staying at home and I cant wait! My parents are coming for Christmas day. Tim is cooking a Turkey, Ill be giving out burnt mince pies...Its going to be awesome!

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's?

20. Angel, star or ribbon on top of tree? Star. When I was little we had this angel that sat on the top that I thought was beautiful! In reality with grown up eyes it looks awful but Ill always have a soft spot for it. I shall inherit it one day and it shall sit on the top of the tree obviously.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Tim is half Swiss so they always opened them Christmas Eve European style. Which I think is crazy!? Part of the fun of Christmas Eve is the anticipation. Since I clearly wear the trousers in our house, we will do as we did in my family. First thing on Christmas morning open ALL the presents as quickly as humanly possible! No order, just dive in and rip!

22. Favorite children's Christmas song? Probably Jingle bells or something...

23. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? NOTHING! Christmas rocks full stop!

24. Favorite ornament? These gold angels we had from when I was little. I always thought they were so beautiful.

25. Meat for Christmas meal? Turkey although one year we had Goose and it was really good. Bit pricey though.

26. What do you want for Christmas this year? Art of books esp Pixar art ones. I collect them.

27. Does anyone in your family dress up as Santa? No but hubby could pull it off I think...

28. Age you discovered who Santa was? whaaaaat!? Santa's not real!?

29. Mulled wine, hot chocolate, or beer? I like the Mulled wine!

30. Traditional colors (red and green) or other colors? Yep we're pretty traditional. My hubby cant cope with anything too out there...

31. Do you have any Christmas decorations on your roof? No I don't trust either of us to put them up and live to tell the tale...

32. How does Santa get into your house? Chimney or magic key? We have an dodgy old electric fireplace – I always imagined he came in by magic but you've crushed that dream *sob*

33. Do you prefer gifts or gift cards? Gifts! always gifts people...

34. Favorite children's Christmas Cartoon? Its not a cartoon but I always loved Santa Clause the Movie!

Anyway so that's us. I found this quiz on a lovely blog jennsblondeambition that I read.  I hope she doesn't mind but I thought it was such a great idea. I've adapted mine a little because for example I don't know what EggNog is? Feel free to lift mine and put it on your own Blog if you have one. I'd love to read about what you do. Unless you open your presents on Christmas Eve in which case you will be on my naughty list...

Anyway happy Christmas. I hope its a great one!
