Flashback Friday: Wedding preparation

I have talked about my friend Helen before. She is my childhood best friend. We played footsie from our prams as our mothers talked at the gate. We grew up playing together almost daily, with each others houses being a home away from home. We rode bikes, roller skated down her drive (scared the crap out of me every time), played dress up, pretended, imagined... You get the idea. We drifted apart after school but thanks to the wonders of social networking we found each other again. Funnily enough although some years have passed it's like no time at all. We just picked up where we left off. It felt normal and right.

It felt like home.

She got married this week. It was a small ceremony with just family but I was lucky enough to be invited to see her in dress before the wedding! I of course asked if I could bring my camera.

Isn't she stunning?

We reminisced about times past...
Thought about the future (Oh have loads of little babies Helen!)...
        Cooed over the dress...

Her dress is a genuine 1930's vintage dress and it was just beautiful...
        And check out those shoes!

The ring!
We chatted while Mamma adjusted, fussed, then adjusted some more...

Clever Mummy...

Her mum also made the cake, inspired by spring of course...
(I wish I had gotten a photo of us both together now so how about this one instead)

Thank you dear friend for inviting me to be part of your special wedding preparation.
I wish you a lifetime of happiness x
