Wallace and Grommets...

My youngest is struggling.

Which is kind of why I haven't managed to blog this last week. Lately he is very unhappy, swinging from from smiling to crying within seconds. No not crying, screaming. At times he loses it so bad he starts banging his head as hard as he can on the floor, on me, on anything. It's a job to hold him, let alone stopping him hurting himself. One particular evening he was screaming so bad we got real scared. We thought Oh God maybe something is really really wrong. I called the doctors to ask if I could just come down and wait to see someone at the end of surgery. After hearing his screams the receptionist immediately said 'the doctor is on his way'. 10 minutes later he was at the door. Oh God.

Don't worry though. It is nothing serious thankfully. He needs Grommets, whatever those are. Basically he can't drain the fluid in his ears which at times is giving him excruciating ear ache. This is probably also why he gets so many ear infections. He has to have an operation to have these 'Wallace and grommets' (as Tim calls them) put in. I'm not so sure i'm okay with my baby being put to sleep and having an operation. Even if it is routine and loads of children have them. However it needs to be done.

We are not going out much since the meltdowns are so spectacular I cant quite manage them in public. Staying in though is leading to both kiddies climbing the walls at times. Childrens' TV is on way too much and warm milk is helping to calm down some of the crying. It's okay though. It's nothing serious for which I am grateful. And at times we get these little glimpses to our lovely little man when he is not in pain and happy. In those times he is adorable.

So what do you do on a hot day, when the kids are hyper and you can't for the life of you find the paddling pool? You make it work...

Isaac continues to keep everyone amused...

After the fun is over Isaac refuses to get out as its 'way' colder outside than in the water...
Fair enough eh?

And as I said we get these little glimpses...

We are making use of the garden and driveway even if we are still in our PJs...

And I'm still photographing their every move...and more importantly they are still letting me...

Poor little man, it will be sorted soon x

Iheartfaces: Yellow

Yay! Yellow is my favourite colour! This may not be a perfect photo but I love him in yellow as well as his constant sloppy kisses on the mirror...

End of the world?

Apparently not this time.

But much more importantly it was my birthday.

I was rather put out that the end of the world, the universe and everything thing in it was apparently scheduled on the same day. Most inconvenient for me.

However we are still here. Therefore I can only conclude that I must have some sway with whoever decides these things. Either that or it was purely the mad ravings of some crazy old guy...?

We are still here to live another day. A good day. My birthday no less.

Which started with some flowers from hubby who knows to go for yellow (my favourite colour).
After lots of cuddles with little ones and a yummy breakfast I went on my weekend morning bike ride. (Do you like how I said that as if I always go every weekend, like some sort of awesome athletic always motivated person?)

I wasn't planing on taking anymore poppy pictures like my last bike ride but riding past they looked even more impressive. So once again I fell  made my way down the hill, got stuck in barb-wire climbed over the fence to take some more shots...

It was really REALLY windy, the sky was threatening to thunder or something. Which lead me to have a funny fleeting thought: imagine if it was true and the world was going to end while we were all laughing at the absurbity of it all? I pictured it all happening like a film playing in my head with special effects to suit. (always been a big daydreamer) Even though I know I'm pretty sure I'm getting left behind with the others unable to believe. I wondered am I happy with the little life I've had? Would I still be grateful? Did I do okay?
I think you can tell what my answer was...
After Lunch and during Lucas' nap, Isaac decided to make me birthday cupcakes. Well if you insist...

It got a tad messy...

It was first ever time making them and they turned out to be pretty darn good...

 Time to decorate...

And eat before Mummy even gets a bite...

I got one eventually...

Then after a change of clothes a little play in the garden... (really shouldn't have bothered changing clothes)

You can't beat a good hose down for some fun, especially if you are the one holding the hose...
Then after wardrobe change number 3, we settled down to watch one of my favourite films Toy story 3. They only watched the beginning because Isaac is scared of the monkey. While they napped I finished watching it and as usual cried when Andy say's goodbye.

Seriously Pixar this Film is amazing!

In the evening we had a dinner party with friends which was lovely. I took my camera and had big plans of taking photos of my food, my friends laughing and joking, my cake etc... All of which was forgotten about pretty soon after my first glass of wine. Sorry about that. It was a great evening though.

And as an extra plus, it wasn't interrupted by the world ending. Which is good because in my opinion there's some pretty nice things worth sticking around for...
