Enjoying the sun and a paddling pool...

My excitement over the summer holidays hit a road block right off the block as I was hit with a three day migraine.

Yep that was fun.

However when I recovered we made up for it...

By enjoying the sun and the paddling pool...

And this kid just cracks me up...
I mean how can you not trust this cheeky face...
You really shouldn't though, he is always playing tricks...

But look, the little charmer...

And this one? I mean it is impossible to tell this one off for anything...
And he knows it...

Some cuddles with Daddy...

And after days of lying in bed in a darkened room, I wanted in on the paddling pool action...

A water fight ensued...

I got a little power hungry with the hose...

And Isaac tried out for the Olympic jump high then make a painful splash team...
Ouch!

And nothing beats warming up after with a towel. Seriously look at that face?
*Sigh* lots more summer fun to come x

Exciting news...

Okay okay i'll give...

Time for our exciting news...

Although I feel like I bigged it up too much...

And it will be a let down...

Anyway here goes nothing...

Here is our house...

Actually only half is our house...

This half...

We love our house, our garden, our closeness to the boys school and to the woods. But it is a small house. The boys share a bedroom and the third bedroom is so small I use it as my office. If we have visitors stay over at least two people are sleeping on the floor. We often thought about moving but it was a reluctant thought...

Then this one magical day our neighbour put his house on the market. I rang hubby with butterflies in my stomach and said you are going to think i'm crazy but...

He didn't think I was crazy though, he wanted to buy it as badly as me.

Long story short we are in the process of buying it!

The plan is to renovate, rent it out and then one day knock through and make one big super house/bat cave.

It it weird that I am most excited about sorting out this garden?... (our garden currently is on the right)
I mean its an absolute jungle in there but one day it could be a massive vegetable patch/herb garden?

And the front garden too...(ours currently on the left)

And job number one will be to chop these mothers down! They take all our light in the afternoon and drain the soil for all my surrounding plants...
The inside needs a lot of work. It needs to be totally redecorated and a new kitchen put in. We would want to get it rentable as quick as possible. Since Lucas will be starting school full time in September and I will be totally lost, this is going to be my job. My new baby if you will...

I have a lot to learn and a lot to do, so as is my new mantra these days...

I can't wait, can't wait, can't wait...

At the moment it is sold to us subject to contract. Things could fall through, anything could happen. So I have to be patient and I have to wait. You know how good I am at that...

*ahem* in no way at all...

So keep your fingers and everything else crossed for me and I will keep you updated...

School is out for summer...

School is officially out for summer and the days are full of promise...

The weather alternates between clear blue skies full of hot sun to dramatic thunder storms that roll in and out regularly. I can't tell you how much I love it.

But before school ended I spent some quality time with my youngest. He will start school full time in September and the afternoons spent together just the two of us will come to an end...

Waaaah!

I'm not going to lie, I already feel wobbly about it...
The end of his nursery brought so many opportunities to see how much he has grown...

From winning races at sports day (even if he did desperately hold the egg on the spoon the whole way on one race) to shouting 'look there's my mummy!' on the stage in the summer concert while pointing at me...

I feel like I could burst with pride...

And also with the overwhelming urge to slow time down with my bare hands...

I don't want to go back, I just more of right now...

What is helping my mummy wobble though is excitement about the coming summer. I'm looking forward to camping, campfires, walks in the woods, road trips, Switzerland, afternoon movies, afternoon naps for that matter, bike rides, bbqs...

I could go on...

You know my usual...

I can't wait, can't wait, can't wait...

Yep summer has won me over already...

Plus there is that exciting news that I still haven't told you...

(No I'm not pregnant)

It's...

Hee I'll tell you soon

Right here, right now...

Lately I've felt a little overwhelmed by things. I can't seem to get on top of things or finish things perfectly. The mess surrounds me daily reflecting my own state of mind. I'm worrying about things I can't control. I can't sleep because my mind is racing...

The thing is, some of this stress has come from crazy exciting things coming my way. Things that move me forward to places I want to be.

Is it possible to want to stand still and run forward at the same time?

Apparently so.

Anyway I realised that one of the things that brings me back into balance is to stop and look at the little things right here right now. I know this and yet for some reason I've been resisting it. I've been to busy spinning instead...

My garden is teaching me so much about myself and how to approach life so I'm retreating there...

To step off the ride and put my feet back firmly on the ground...

It's teaching me that:

What is growing in front of me right now is a direct reflection of the work and preparation I put in previously...
I just had to be patient...

Each year I learn a little more and I do a little better. I can't do and know it all in one giant leap...

Slow down, take it in...

Perfection is impossible and trying to achieve it is for me destructive. Lean into the nature of how things already are...

That's where the real beauty lies...

Embrace failure, that's how you learn and move forward. I battle with this daily...

Look at all you have done rather than everything still yet to do. In a garden and in life there is always always more to do...

Creating things soothes the soul...

And most importantly have fun...

Really exciting things to tell you about, but first...

Let's just enjoy all this...
Right here, right now...
