The last few weeks have been great. It's spring, we had the Easter holidays and lots of chocolate which hurts my tummy but anyways. But unusually the children's schools holidays did not line up with Tim's teaching school holidays. This meant that for the first week Tim was home they were still at school. It was kind of awesome because he could take them to school and pick them up. I might be messy and chaotic because.Well... because of who I am as a person. But i'm predictable too. Because I've got that Spring feeling...
The sun finally comes out, the blossom opens up, I eye other peoples colourful gardens studiously, and I try get my bare hands in the soil at every possible moment.

This is a simple art activity you can do with children that looks really effective. The other day we did it for fun but we have also done them before as homemade greeting cards...
Isaac then drew his squares and circles as he pleased. After each one he just lightly brushed around each one with a little water. The branches are still bare and empty.
The remains of lasts years garden are still on display...
But there are whisperings. The lighter mornings, the random warm day, a few buds showing, a lone daffodil brave enough to come out. And the Crocus, always the first to show itself in all it's tiny glory...

This half term we went to visit family in Woolacombe which was so much fun but went way too quickly for my liking. By far the highlight of the whole trip was our trip to Exmoor National Park. We walked a part that is known as Lorna Doone Country...It is a wild and woolly place...

You guys I did it! It took me six weeks. With a little help here and there I renovated the house next door Homes under the Hammer style. Six weeks of every muscle group complaining, some I didn't even know I had. Six weeks of cutting down and digging up. Of pulling out weeds and roots with my bare hands. Of desperately laying down turf even though the light was fading Sianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15110664157316853976noreply@blogger.com16tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3893627936560775007.post-15751482484182424742014-11-07T18:24:00.001+00:002022-02-25T18:31:22.290+00:00The house next door...
After various delays, and me practicing the art of not being very patient at all, we now officially own the house next door. Suddenly I'm waking up at 5am to do my usual housework early so I can spend all day working on 'the house'. I have a million things to remember to do, phone calls to make, decisions to be made, things to break...
We have to work fast so we can rent it out as soon as Sianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15110664157316853976noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3893627936560775007.post-66711297470500020062014-10-09T16:07:00.001+00:002022-02-25T18:32:53.498+00:00Sometimes it's good to wait a bit...
This summer me and Tim were feeling like bad parents because we still hadn't taught Isaac to ride without stabalisers. Every time a child Isaac's age expertly passed us on a bike we would look at each other with guilty eyes that said 'yep we really need to do that soon...' It wasn't intentional, it just kind of fell of the radar. So one afternoon we decided it was time to tick this off Sianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15110664157316853976noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3893627936560775007.post-88008786688384700822014-09-24T14:29:00.001+00:002022-02-25T18:33:46.541+00:00A birthday and Birmingham Sea Life Centre...
I'm still loving the new tradition of sneaking in balloons the night before a birthday. How exciting is that? Although no one one in this house has got the hint and done it for my birthday yet.
But there's always next year... *cough cough*

His family remarked that it had been an unusually bad summer in Switzerland with constant rain. They all agreed it was a shame that we did not get many sunny days with full view of the mountains.
