Once upon a time...

This is the story of a boy called Isaac and a Lady bird called Harry.
(I recommended naming him Larry the Ladybug
for alliteration purposes but that idea went down like a lead balloon)

Isaac and Harry met one fateful day in the garden and they were inseparable for a full 58 minutes.

At first Isaac was gentle and any movement was slow and careful.
For at least a few minutes anyway!
I tried to suggest that we find Harry a nice green leaf to live in...
Mainly because I feared Isaac would accidentally drop/squish/crush/stand on him.
And you just know there would be tears...
Look a nice luxury condo in a desirable location with views to delight...? No?

They were way too busy doing all kinds of activities together!

Running...

Dancing...
Yep he's still there on Isaac's finger, probably clinging on for dear life...

At one point, unsurprisingly, Harry fell off Isaac's arm. We searched the grass blades in despair, hoping to find him before we stood on him or something. Isaac was telling me how sad he was to lose his best friend Harry, when all of a sudden I saw Harry casually strolling up Isaac's T Shirt! YAY! He was there all along. So back to the activities they went...
Meeting the family...

Climbing mountains...

Riding trucks...

Speed dating...
It didn't work out...

Debating the serious Issues...
'What do you mean you don't like SpongeBob!'

Sharing secrets...

It was never going to last though. They were from two different worlds...
They both knew it but neither one wanted to be the first to say it out loud...
In the end Harry bravely flew off when we weren't looking...
Cue James Blunt song 'goodbye my friend, you have been the one...'

Don't worry though, in no time at all Isaac was eyeing a friendly looking/possible replacement friend, spider. At which point I quickly announced it was time for lunch and ushered him quickly and a little too firmly inside. Sorry Spider dude but I've got limits and you are it! Bye Bye Harry, it was fun while it lasted...

  1. Oh, how cute! I remember playing with ladybugs when I was really little. They do seem to enjoy just crawling all over humans. =)

  2. Aw, that's cute. I'm afraid I'd have had to say no to a pet spider as well. Shudder....
