Sunday pancakes + Movie night = Day of awesomeness!

Last Sunday was a good day. I knew it would be for the reasons in the title. I took a 'few' photos so come on! Spend the day with us...
Starting with homemade blueberry pancakes. Thank you hubby...
With lots of Tea obviously...
Then to work off our pancake laden bellies a walk in the woods was required...
(some of these photos aren't great, the light was fading fast )
There was some serious tree climbing. (not from me I'm a scaredy cat)
We went searching for fairies and pixies but they weren't out today...
This mushroom was so pulling a Marilyn Monroe...
We almost got attacked by a dog before these next photos. When I say attacked it was more snarling, loud barking and weird crazy eyes. The owner felt so bad she gave the boys jelly beans. Note the word 'them'. Hey lady where's my Jelly beans the crazy dog freaked me out too!
Then back to ours for Movie night activities. Did I mention I already put the tree up. Apparently its way too early but hey...
Guess what movie I talked them into they chose!
How to Train your Dragon.
Check out my new glasses...
I know I'm mostly all about pixar but damn this movie is good. Great job Dreamworks. Movie night score 10/10!

Then before bed the boys pretended they were flying dragons and jumped off the sofas over and over. Obviously we reminded them that is not okay!
So off they went to bed...
So I could give it ago. Whoa it is well fun! And yes that is me touching the ceiling. Sweeet!

It just happened one day...

The other day something happened all on its own. Lucas was ill and they were watching TV. I came in the room to find them cuddling on the sofa. I had to capture it. This kind of affection rarely happens without prompting.
Heart melted all over the floor and I'm not cleaning it up.

Being in the moment

It's amazing what you notice when you stop and focus...
So much there waiting to be seen...
So much to drink in...
Little moments that get to happen because you are there completely...
Taking the time to play like you did as a kid...
To watch them try something...
Because all this will go so fast...

Do what is important, screw the rest, it can wait...

Chicken Pox and movies...

I'm behind with my posts.
I think you'll understand why...
Yep. The dreaded Pox! Chicken that is...

Poor little man has been so poorly. Believe it or not I took this photo before the spots got really bad. Big brother got it first and had no trouble. His spots are almost completely gone now. Lucas on the other hand is completely covered. Its like they all ganged up and said 'hey I know, lets all become one big painful spot!...and while we are at it, make sure we get right in the ears, on top of the eyes lids, everywhere! Lucas hasn't been able to sleep, eat and has been in my arms permanently. It's been a tough week but today he finally seems to be feeling better.

So I think I'll do a short post today about our recent (pre-chicken pox) movie night...

Which means a little of this...
    Alot of this...

And way too much of this...
I was dropping heavy hints all day for the boys to choose 'How to Train your dragon' because lets face it, it's awesome!
But they didn't go for it. Instead they choose this...
I wasn't convinced by the choice but it was actually pretty good.

Isaac imposing the 'I'm not sharing get your own popcorn' rule...
Lucas assured me not to worry it would be a happy ending. Which it was *phew*

Then a little wrestle before bed. You know, to wind them down ready for sleep....
