I imagined something out of Pride and Prejudice would do nicely...

I mentioned this to hubby lightly, thinking that we wouldn't be able to find nor afford any such place. But before I could blink he was lost in Google looking for the perfect place.
And found the perfect place he did.
The description read:
Perched on Llangattock Hillside with magnificent views across to the Sugar Loaf and Black Mountains National Park, this cosy retreat has been immaculately converted from an old stone barn into a beautiful holiday home in the hills...

That was all the description I needed.
Within a couple of days we had packed up and left.
And we were not disappointed by what we found...
That first day we took our time to slowly explore...
To allow ourselves to get a little lost...
To drink it all in.
To borrow another's words:
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time, to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.' - William Henry Davies
