I'm still here!

Did you miss me? I certainly missed you guys but I got excuses honest! Firstly the dog ate my homework...

Just kidding.

But for real, my computer nearly exploded. It has been in computer hospital and according to my computer guy it was a few months away from exploding due to the amount of dust collecting inside. I had no idea you should regularly blow away this dust. I told my computer guy that from now on I would blow it regularly. At which point it sounded like from my end of the phone that he fell off his chair laughing...

Was it something I said...?

Anyway there were some other issues to be sorted including Photoshop not working correctly. I know the horror of it all! This has meant I was without internet for a considerable amount of time. I won't lie I was panicked at this prospect. I got the nervous shakes. But it turned out to be a good thing. I've been reducing the amount the boys watch TV anyway so we have all had a bit of time unplugged. Turns out with these distractions I get so much more done, I'm a more focused mummy and the boys play together better.

So I've been thinking a lot lately about keeping things simple. Less multitasking (which I'm terrible at anyway), slowing down and taking time to do things properly. Weirdly with this approach I'm getting more done. Less sneaking onto Google reader while half listening to my kids telling me something. Less cleaning while watching a movie, less tweeting while I should be at the dinner table...

I say less because I'm glad to have my computer back. I get a lot out of the internet, blog, twitter etc etc so the new rule is no internet in the morning and off the computer between 9 and 10pm. TV wise for the boys, I imagined they would immediately demand their TV rights with pitch forks and torches but they didn't. They just played. Maybe if they were older they would kick right off.

Either way for now its nice to simplify a little...

Here's what we've been up to...

I finally hung some of my own photos up in our house. I have thousand of photos on my computer but I never show them off. I also painted a blackboard onto one of my kitchen cupboards. I'm pleased with how it turned out.
We've been enjoying frosty mornings...
I can't get enough of frost. How it looks close up. Sparkling like diamonds in the sunlight...
And while Daddy was on a ski trip with his school kids we kept ourselves busy...
    And messy...
Lucas of course likes to eat all that he creates *rolls eyes*...

And just as I was about to divorce Winter stating irreconcilable differences, Winter suddenly stepped up it's game...

    Starting with a few flakes...
    Okay you have my attention...
I could watch those fat flakes falling all day...
It wasn't long before Isaac was out enjoying the falling white stuff...

In fact Isaac enjoyed it so much he started eating the snow, each to their own I guess as long as its not yellow...
    Is there anything more fun?
Cheeky little tike...
Lucas was amazed by the snow...
And he got his chance to play...
(yes he is a snotty mess)
It wasn't long before Lucas was on the receiving end of a snowball. And yes he did cry.
So I really should have seen this coming...
    Time for some snowman making...
    (And some hat switching apparently)
Who apparently was in need of a nose job...
3 guesses who bit it clean off...?
A master piece...
    And a new beloved friend...
It's good to be back guys xxx
