What on earth do you do all day?

Good question! As a stay at home mum I get asked this alot. Sometimes with genuine curiosity, sometimes with judgement. Personally I have no strong feeling about whether mums should stay at home or not. Only a strong belief that mummies have the right to choose what is best for them and their family because quite frankly its hard either way.

When I had Isaac I thought I could pay someone a lot of money to look after my children and take part in seeing them learn everything for the first time. Or I could do it and cherish the time because before I can blink they will be off to school brushing away my kisses saying 'urgh mum you're soooo embarrassing!' So I get on with trying to keep the house tidy, change nappys, feed them, put them down for naps etc etc etc...

Music time!

Anyway the answer is genuinely I don't stop and I still don't manage to get everything done. The phrase headless chicken comes to mind. One of the things I find more and more difficult is coming up with different and fun ways of keeping them entertained. Sure we go for walks, playdates, playgroups, etc. but inbetween they still need fun stuff to do or they climb the walls. I wonder if its a boy thing or just a my kids thing...

They have loads of toys. Toys everywhere threatening to take over the house but it doesn't take long for them to get bored with them. Sometimes it's the unlikey things that aren't toys they enjoy the most. You know the whole get them a flashy expensive toy as a present and they play with the box thing...

Making Autum leaves! Look at how tidy and organised the house was that day lol.
More painting!
A lego Helicopter. I get a bit carried away making stuff with Lego Duplo sometimes...

Colouring on the computer.

Dinner time!

Isaac giving Lucas a kiss in a rare affectionate moment which makes a change from throwing toys at him...

In short its hard, busy, sometimes lonely, exhausting but I love it and I wouldn't miss a moment of it.
